Finally, I finished with my speech..

Today I gave a speech to my class about my obsession. My obsession was about a beautiful place in Thailand. The name of the place was Doi Pui. I brought my pictures, poster,and map of thailand to show my classmates when I presented . I was the last person giving the speech of the class. I was so shy and nervous to talk in front of people.I was so afraid that I was going to ruin my speech while I was presenting. However, When I gave the speech to my class today, I completely felt comfortable and calm. I couldn't believe that I wasn't tremble a lot liked I used to be. When I was in high school, I was so timid. I couldn't talk or present anything in front of people. My Dad and my Mom always tell me that i need to have a self esteem in order to make my life easy. they always tell me that I am an intelligent girl. However, I just need to be more confident and be my self. Finally, I was so happy that everyone enjoyed and liked my speech today. My teacher and my friends also told me that I did pretty good .They all understood what I talkd about. I think I improve a lot...By the way,I'm so tired today..

little Traditional thai party tonight....

My house had a party tonight. It was actually Thai food party. There were just few Thai people came over to my house. One of us was Kay who was my classmate in NCC. She came around 8:00 o'clock. When she arrived at my house, I just finished my writing assignment. I spent like an hour to write the essay by using the vocabulary. I think it was hard for me because I wasn't sure that I used the vocabulary in the right place or not. So I was so frustrated about that. However, i was done. After that, I went to enjoy Thai food with Kay, my mom ,and my mom's friends. We ate a lot of food. My mom and others drank the alcohol a little bit, but i couldn't drink because i am under 21 year old.I am not old enough to drink. I also hate the smell of alcohol, especially beer. So i drank orange soda instead. While we were eating and talking, we were watching the new about Thailand. I felt like my house was in Thailand. And of course, we spoke Thai and Lao..actually I spoke Lao with my mom , but I spoke Thai with my mom's friends and Kay. So I spoke 2 language at the same time. Kay left my house around 10:00 o'clock because she needed to go back home to finish her HW. However, the party was still going. After Kay left, I went to my computer in order to post my blog. Then I just wrote about the party tonight. I had a lot of fun tonight because I saw some Thai people. I wish my mom will have a party like this again soon. I enjoy meeting Thai people. Also, I am so tired now..I'm going to sleep as soon as possible.

By the way, I feel so uncomfortable right now because I ate a lot.....

My leg is so painful.

I sprained my leg when I played the hockey with my cousins on thanksgiving day. when I played the hockey I wore the inline skates. While I was playing, I fell down many times. However, I couldn't feel anything until i woke up in the morning at the next day. Before I got up from the bed, I felt so much pain on my calf. I couldn't even move my left leg. When I got up from the bed, I tried to walk to the bathroom. However, I couldn't even walk out from my room. So I called my mom and told her to find the medicine for me. Then she gave me the medicine. I put the medicine around my calf. I feel so much better now, but I still can't walk like normal people. I hope i get well as soon as possible, so i can go to school. I miss Mrs. Elaine and all my friendss. I haven't seen and talked to them for 4 days. It seems like very long time.

Thanksgiving day!!

Yesterday was thanksgiving day. Most people in the United Stated celebrate thanksgiving on November 27 every year. So yesterday, I went to my Uncle's house to celebrate thanksgiving. Before we went there, my mom made some food to bring to my uncle's house because my mom and I couldn't eat turkey. We thought we were allergic of turkey. That's why we needed to bring extra food. At about 2.00 P.M., we went to my uncle's house. When we got there, I met all my relatives. They were all my Dad side. I have been knowing them since I have been here. They were very nice to me. All of them asked me about the college. Then I told them that i was doing good at school. they were all happy for me that I loved and enjoyed school. They also told me that I spoke English better than before.When they told me that I was extremely impressive. My uncle have 2 sons and 1 daughter. They are all young. However, I love to play with them. I played with the youngest one yesterday. She is absolutely adorable. Her name is Ashlyn. She is 5 year old. I danced with her all day long. I was so exhausted. My parents and I left my uncle'house around 7:15P.M. Before I left there, Ashlyn was so upset. She didn't want me to leave. She said to me that she wanted me to stay with her forever. She called me sister. She finally loved me. I told her that I would see her sometime when I have a free time. I gave her my cell phone munber. She was extremely cheerful. Finally, She gave me a big hug and kissed me on my cheek. I had a wonderful thanksgiving day.

Fern is still looking for a job......hopefully, she get a job soon

I have been looking for a job since I got my driver license. However, I still don't get one yet. I went to the mall last week to apply for the job. They all told me that they would call me for interview,but they never call or contact me back. Yesterday, I went to Century 21 near my house to apply for a job. when I got there, I asked the employee where could I apply for a job. She gave me a direction how to get to the office. When I arrived to the office, there were five people sitting in the office who were waiting to fill out the application.Then the manager gave me the application to fill out. After I filled it out, there were some math problems to do on the last page. I was so afraid that I couldn't do it. Also, I knew that we couldn't use the calculator. So I just solved the math problems on the paper and answers the questions. It wasn't so bad. I mean it was pretty easy, but you needed to understand the problems in order to solve them.Today, I also went to Friday restaurant to apply for a job. However, the employees told me that they didn't have the application form left. I needed to come back tomorrow around affernoon for application.

Dating customs in my country...listening lab!!

Dating custom is very important and serious issues in my country, especially because parents want to get involve with that. Most of people in my country start dating when they are around 20 or older, but I'm not quiet sure about this information, though. when people have a date , they usually go to their houses or some restaurants. If they go to their houses, they will visit their parents and bring something for their parents, such as food, fruits, Souvenirs etc.. Then the parents will get to know them and invite them for dinner. After that, they will start to know each other. However, some of parents won't like some of them because of families backgrounds and education issues. Most parents in my country want their children to have a good husband or wives because they can take care of their children in the future. I think most people in my country can be alone on a date, but they usually tell their parents when they go out. In addition, dating in my country is totally different from the U.S. In here you can kiss each other in publice places, However, in my countrty if people are doing that in publice places , it will be strange for other people around them. I have no reason for that..it's just traditional.

we had so much fun at the Karaoke showcase!!!

My class and I went to the building K to participate the international karaoke showcase today . There were many people there and It was very crowd.I think most of them were from LINCC program. When I got there, I met some of my friends from other classes that I haven't met them for so long. I also made some new friends. At the karaoke, there were also some food to purchase, such as wrap, cookies, and coffee etc..Before the karaoke was started, I went to buy some cookies. It was very cheap. It just one dollar for each. Then the karaoke was started. There were many students who were waiting to sing. Some of them were my classmates and some of them were my other class friends. Keyry and kelsey were my classmates. They did really good job and other did ,too.I liked all of the songs that they sang. However, My favorite karaoke was "It's my Life". Harry was the singer. He was one of my friend,but he wasn't in LINCC program anymore. I didn't know that he had a really good voice until I heard he sang the song today. Finally, the last show was the teachers performance. All the LINCC program teachers were singing the karaoke together..The name of the karaoke was we are family..I guess, but I'm not quite sure about that. Anyway, I loved it ..I had such a wonderful happy time today. Also, I hope all my friends and my professors had a great time, too.
